Senior L1 Specification Engineer

Role & Responsibilities

5G Base Station physical layer (L1) specifications as part of international architecture and specification team. Focus area could be some or all of the following sub-domains depending on skills:

• Develop specifications of 5G physical layer (L1) processing, including collecting requirements and use cases including baseband and massive MIMO processing;
• Specify requirements for subsystems and their interfaces with other components;
• Perform technical analysis and grooming of physical layer (L1) related features;
• Lead certain specification competence area(s);
• Ensure consistency of feature implementations with other teams and effort/capacity estimates from contributing teams;
• Specify current customer expectations to products and solutions for 5G Base Station physical layer (L1) area;
• Consult development teams in features implementation;
• Create feature and test specifications for a product release;
• Investigate and correct feature specification defects and specification related complex customer problems;
• Align specifications to 3GPP physical layer specifications updates.

Requirements

• Master or above, major in telecommunication, electronic engineering, computer science, or related;
• Strong background in communications theory and signal processing;
• 7+ years of background on development/research/specification of wireless/telecom/radar systems;
• Fluent verbal communication and writing skills in English and Russian languages;
• Proactive and independent problem solving through own experience and network;
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in international teams.

Preferred skills

• Knowledge of LTE/5G physical layer (L1);
• Experiences on programming in Matlab/C/C++ and modelling wireless communications systems;
• Embedded systems, ARM, DSP, ASIC, FPGA etc. SW development expertise;
• Background in SW architecture/specification work for telecom/radar/wireless (embedded systems, ARM, DSP, ASIC, FPGA etc.) and/or signal processing SW development;
• Understanding of the ASIC/FPGA or DSP/low level SW design flow and process.
