Senior Fullstack Software Developer (remote only)

Description 

We are looking for a developer that not just wants to develop software but to produce code that will help to improve people's health. Make an impact that they can see by themself. 

We are a non-profit organisation that works mostly with the vaccination of children, mothers, and all other groups of people. This year we started to work with providing software that helps to vaccinate people from COVID-19. We work in many different countries like Gambia, Uganda, Haiti, Afghanistan, and many others. 

We are working as small teams by two or three people over one OKR (Objectives and Key Results). So if you will join us you will be part of that small team. We are changing teams and OKR quarterly so there is always an opportunity to work with something new. 

Requirements

Necessary:

1. Stack: Python developer, or any other backend language experienced developer with interest to work with Python (Not PHP or JavaScript).
2. Being able to clarify problems and requirements and propose solutions for the task and discuss a solution with the team.
3. Being able to develop an architecture for a solution and make sure that other team members follow and understand it.
4. Be a team player which means you have respect for other people’s opinions and being able to objectively speak about solutions.
5. Have curiosity about processes and problems behind the development (Wish to understand why we do the task before doing it).
6. Can do code review, and we can rely on you in that case.
7. Be ready to participate in improving working processes.
8. Being able to communicate on an intermediate English level. We are ready to consider worse language skills if you’re ready to take courses as soon as we hire you. We still have people who understand Russian so that they can help you in the beginning.

Nice to have:

1. Experience with Python language, Django, Pandas
2. Being able to do some simple front-ends with a simple design and read JS code (React, Angular, VueJS, JS)
3. Work experience in a Health care area, especially in Global healthcare
4. Ability to explore a huge amount of legacy code and being able to find a way to improve it
5. Ability to be self-organised and find out everything by yourself (asking questions from other people, being curious about how processes work, not waiting until someone will give you a clear tech task with an explanation of what needs to be done)

We provide

• One year contract with extension in the case that we are good at working together 
• Ability to work from anywhere in the world as long as you want it
• Relocation to Sweden after 2-3 years of working with us (If you want it)
• We are agile in the case of working hours or the schedule (So if you need to work part-time or at another time, we are fine with that, we just need to speak about it and agree on it).
• Paid vacation for 25 days
• Travelling for meetups at least one  time a year paid by Shifo (We have hope to return to it after the COVID-19 restrictions and increase the number of meetups)
• We are providing 10% of the time per month that you can use for your own studies and improving your skills (around 20 hours per month) that will be paid to you in full because we believe that learning is a part of the work process. If you need to take some course, we will pay for that, but it needs to be aligned with Shifo needs or technologies.
