Unit head (remote)

Hi there, we are looking for an Engineering Manager aka Unit head for our outsourcing department. You will help us launch more projects in Europe and around the world, and maintain our unique culture as we grow.

About us

Headquartered in Singapore, with a base in Estonia, Lorem Scriptum (ex CSSSR) brings together top talent based around the globe to produce the highest quality results. As an experienced web development outsourcing company, we have built more than 500 projects within the last 10 years, and we did it completely remotely.

About the role

We are searching for a people person with an entrepreneurial spirit and engineering background to upswing our operations in Europe, and the US. We have 100+ talented developers, and we need you to reconfigure sales strategy while keeping an eye on processes and tech culture. Yet do it in a way to maintain our unique culture as we grow.

Here’s what you’ll do:

• drive your business unit growth, be actively involved in business development and clients relations;
• implement a new sales strategy and positioning;
• be responsible for the financial health of the business unit, and make financial decisions;
• make data-driven decisions;
• optimize and modify processes, if it's needed;
• make sure that both clients and employees are happy.

This is a remote job with occasional trips to Europe, CIS, and the US. It’s definitely going to be challenging and fun.

About you

• you have managed big teams or an IT service business;
• you might have failed, but you’ve learned from that experience;
• you thrive working in a start-up environment and are keen on keeping things under control;
• you’ve got a proven record of managing dev teams;
• excellent English and Russian (written and spoken) is a must;
• you have the ambition to do great projects and maybe even change the world for the better!
