Sr Dev Ops Engineer

Cogni is hiring a DevOps and Cloud Infrastructure engineer to lead our innovative and groundbreaking fintech platforms.

The company is a technology startup, raised $25M capital so far, is revolutionizing the distribution of fintech products and services backed by digital banking. We’ve recently launched our free debit account and are now building a banking platform with freemium services and integrated commerce and a whole suite of exciting products in stealth mode with the intention to disrupt the 1 Trillion (by 2025) industry.

As a Sr DevOps engineer you will own and maintain our infrastructure, CI/CD platform and operational best practices. Ideal candidate has a proven track record of developing and maintaining infrastructure as code and leading the implementation of various critical infrastructure and middleware components.

Our environment is AWS, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Redis, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch, Circle CI, Argo CD, LogStash, Kibana, Spark, Kinesis/Kafka, Terraform, Istio, LinkerD, Git, Consul etc.

Your job is to innovate, design, architect and develop the next generation of sophisticated infrastructure. This role provides an excellent opportunity and autonomy to shape the platform and services for the company by supporting unique and differentiated capabilities. Previous experience working for an early stage startup is a huge plus.

What you’ll be doing

• Develop and own DevOps, Infrastructure and Operational Excellence for the company
• Lead the implementation of various critical infrastructure and middleware components 
• Build and release highly available, reliable, stable products across several platforms 
• Create and maintain transparent monitoring of all relevant systems for tracking operational excellence, cost and performance 
• Document and develop processes to support systems across the organization
• Should be able to understand complex architectures and be comfortable working with multiple teams
• Conduct performance analysis and troubleshoot large scale distributed systems
• Should be highly proactive with a keen focus on improving uptime availability of our mission-critical services
• Lead with empathy, be humble, cultivate a respectful and supportive environment.

What you’ll need to have

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 8+ years of experience in Systems, DevOps or Site Reliability based roles
• 3+ years of experience building highly available systems and supporting cloud-based environments with Infrastructure as a Code(IaC) as the first principle
• Cloud architecture expertise in AWS environment and container based deployments using Kubernetes(EKS), Terraform & Docker.
• Experience with various AWS services like ECS, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, Redshift, Glue, Athena, EKS, CloudFront, Route 53, EventBridge etc
• Solid understanding of systems, applications, network, infrastructure and security
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
