System Administrator (Perfas+)

Perfas+ (or Performance Analysis System) is an active monitoring system, which is used for performance analysis of IP networks. Perfas+ measures and shows very exact and reliable IP performance parameters like delay, delay-variation and packet-loss.

Measurements are performed by a distributed architecture between measurement points at different locations. This architecture includes database, configuration components (web and command line interfaces) and reporting facilities. Affordable by using standard hardware such as Linux based servers.

Technology stack: C/C++, MySQL, AngularJS, PHP, Gitlab, CI/CD, Grafana Servers: Ubuntu 16.04, Debian Buster

The second project for work on is SLACONTROL (which is close to Perfas) - active measurement system for the landline network of Telekom. It runs customer-like dial-ins and measurements to detect the IPTV access availability, the transport quality as well as the response time behavior of the network components.

Responsibilities:

The new colleagues should be a link between the two systems. They should share the knowledge and support the continuation of automation at SLACONTROL, especially in the area of testing using TAF/GAC framework. Therefore we would like to have colleagues with a skill mix of developer, Linux administrator and test engineer.

Requirements:

• Good Linux Skills (Debian or Ubuntu based preferred)
• Knowledge of Linux System Administration (advanced Network and Virtualization)
• Knowledge of Python and Scripting Development for Linux
• Awareness of Open source Licensing
• Git or Github
• Basics in Automation
• Good English to communicate fluently (this is a must)
• Basic knowledge of Agile Development methods eg. Scrum
• Willing to learn new things
