QA Engineer (Junior)

Beamr is expanding the QA team in Saint Petersburg Russia with the position of QA Engineer (Junior). We’re looking for a talented QA Engineer to join our team and to participate in our rigorous testing process as a part of the software release cycle. Responsibilities of the position:

• Participation in testing of video compression software. 
• Analysis of visual quality, performance, efficiency and other aspects of video compression software. 
• Manual and automated testing in accordance with provided test-plans. 
• Automated test scripts development.
• Test status analysis and results reporting. 
• Enter detailed defect description into the bug tracking system and perform its verification.

Requirements of the position: 

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in mathematics or computer science. 
• Advanced computer user with knowledge of different operating systems (Windows, Linux, MacOS). 
• Ability to work with command line interface tools including simple shell scripting (cmd, bash, FAR, Total Commander, etc.) 
• Knowledge of software development fundamentals. 
• Hands-on experience in programming languages like Python, Perl, C, C++ and so on, including university projects. 
• English on Intermediate or higher level. 
• Quick and independent learner.
• Ability to research and provide the results in time. 
• Ability to meet deadlines, priorities and commitments. 
• Must be very organized; strong attention to detail
• Good communication skills, good team player. 

Strong plus will be: 

• Knowledge of video coding fundamentals; experience with video compression software and codecs (FFMPEG, x264/x265, etc.). 
• Start-up experience.
