Senior Computer Vision Researcher

Texel is looking for computer vision and deep learning researcher, who will be able to work with us on human-related projects, improve our algorithms and propose new methods based on current research and SOTA works on related topics.

Texel is a manufacturer of Portal engaging 3D scanners, that have been opened in malls, amusement parks, technology museums and fitness centers in Russia, France, Greece, Germany, Austria, Australia, Qatar, Hong Kong, China, India and US. Backed by extra $1M investment this summer we grow fast, and have new open positions in our R&D team.

Responsibilities

• Prototype, test, iteratively improve, and document various human body parsing techniques
• Explore new areas of applied research on related themes
• Propose new methods and experiment with SOTA algorithms
• Achieve the team goal to deliver an exceptional vision experience/service by improving performance and accuracy of our computer vision software
• Prepare presentations, technical reports and patent applications that reflect the results

Required skills and qualifications

• Knowledge of Python with 3+ year experience
• Knowledge of C++
• Proficient understanding of linear algebra, mathematical analysis, statistics and probability theory
• Sufficient experience with scientific Python libraries (numpy, scipy, scikit libs, etc.)
• Strong background in machine learning and image/video processing techniques
• Good understanding of deep learning theory and SOTA methods
• Familiar with deep learning frameworks Tensorflow and PyTorch
• Competence with Linux
• Strong debugging skills
• Proficient understanding of code versioning using Git
• Scientific English (at least upper-intermediate)

Preferred skills and qualifications

• Experience in developing real-time image processing and/or computer vision systems
• Hands-on work on managing and doing GPU-based computing on large data sets
• Knowledge of CUDA
• Experience in C++ development
