Mirantis, Inc is inviting enthusiastic support engineers an opportunity to provide OpenStack support for enterprise-grade private IaaS platforms for its customers. We are looking for talented engineers who are willing to play a role in the intersection of IT and software engineering. Candidates should be passionate about open source software and be confident in managing large codebases written by other developers.
Responsibilities:
Technical support for customers utilizing Mirantis OpenStack, sometimes over web conference tools;
Proactive troubleshooting installations of Mirantis OpenStack, detecting and reporting issues;
Reproducing customers issues on local environments in order to confirm bugs found and provide detailed information to the development team;
Close work with development team: discuss customers issues, suggest improvements, keep in touch in IRC, participate in meetings, etc.;
Optional business trips to customers side in order to improve qualification (both technical and communication skills);
Participating in public activities: user groups, conferences, company blog in Russia, Ukraine, USA.
Requirements:
Expert Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills;
Expert understanding of networking concepts and protocols;
Ability to read and understand Python, Ruby code; basic scripting skills;
Good knowledge of virtualization solutions (KVM, XEN);
Good knowledge of distributed file systems (Gluster, Ceph);
Fluent English.
Nice to have:
Experience of working with and maintaining large Python codebases;
Understanding of NAS/SAN;
Experience with Linux HA (corosync, pacemaker);
Experience with configuring, customizing, and extending monitoring tools (Nagios, Ganglia, Zabbix);
Experience working with configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet, Cobbler);
Experience deploying and developing OpenStack is a plus.
