Java Developer

About the project:

Currently, we are responsible for the development of Athena, an automated system for creating and maintaining the OMOP Standard Vocabularies. This resource is a fundamental component of the OMOP System.

First Line Software team formed this project to apply years of algorithm development, software engineering, and outsourcing experience to focus on health data analytics (develop solutions for large-scale analytics of health data).

Technologies you will work with:

• Java and Apache frameworks e.g. Spring / Hibernate
• Web frameworks React + Redux + Reselect, D3.js, AngularJS
• PostgreSQL, advanced database design, stored procedures, SQL
• Web Services – REST, JSON
• Big Data platforms (AWS RedShift, Google BigQuery, Cloudera Impala)
• NoSQL data stores and search engines (SOLR, ElasticSearch, MongoDb)

Your responsibilities:

• Develop solutions in an Agile environment and Test-Driven approach 
• Develop solutions by applying industry best practices and coding standards
• Document architecture design by creating necessary architectural artifacts
• Work closely with Lead Architect to develop and implement designs
• Create prototypes and POCs
• Design secure and compliant solutions by following  regulations

Must have skills:

• Java 8 – 15 / Spring / Hibernate
• RDBMS / SQL, including Postgres, SQL Server, or similar (Impala, IBM Netezza)
• Web Services – REST / JSON
• Web frameworks React + Redux + Reselect, D3.js, AngularJS

Nice to have skills:

• ETL and big data processing
• Knowledge of R / R-Shiny
• Experience with OMOP CDM, OHDSI ATLAS 
• Other tools, methods, and standards developed by the OHDSI community 

The additional experience we appreciate:

• Basic DevOps experience (deployments, software configuration, Maven)
• Knowledge of one of the AWS, GCP, Cloudera, DataBricks, or similar platforms
• Previous experience with Agile environments
