Is Linux your passion?
Check Point’s Secure OS group is responsible for designing, developing, upgrading, and maintaining GAiA OS, Check Point’s Linux-based OS.
In this position you will be responsible for maintaining and advancing our operating system, incorporating new and advanced technologies to our system, and adding SW support for new HW and appliances, working closely with different teams across the R&D organization.

We are looking for an experienced Linux software engineer, a skilled developer who can dig into the internals of Linux and adjust them to Check Point needs. An innovative, self-motivating, quick learning developer who can navigate in an unfamiliar code, analyze the behavior of complex environments and suggest bug fixes & Improvements.

Your Impact & Responsibilities

As a team member in the GAiA Low Level & Networking team, you will take part in all of the assignments which are commonly handled by the team, such as:

  • Add support for new hardware to GAiA OS
  • Add new features and functionalities to GAiA OS
  • Fix security vulnerabilities in OS
  • Routine upgrades and updates of Open Source software
  • Fix bugs found in OS related code

Your Knowledge & Skills

  •  B.Sc in computer science from a leading university, or relevant experience
  •  3+ years of experience in programming in C in Linux
  •  Passionate about low-level development, HW, and OS programming.
  • Fast learner, autonomous work capabilities
  • Excellent design & development skills.
  • Flexibility, ability to work in a multi-tasked and dynamic environment.
  • Experience in any of the following fields is an advantage.

- Knowledge of Linux Operating Systems concepts and internals 

- Kernel development - An advantage 

- Experience with HW and Kernel/Drivers - an advantage 

- TCP/IP networking

- Network Security
