Product Designer, BM Audio

Bookmate is a subscription based e-book service that makes reading accessible to anyone in the world with a mobile phone. We inspire millions of people around the globe to read more, discover new books and find new friends with common interests. We plan to launch digital audiobooks as part of the Bookmate global offering. Bookmate Audiobooks will work as a separate application but deep-linked to Bookmate’s e-book service.

Now we’re looking for a Product Designer who specializes in UX & IA, who will design Bookmate Audio.

What you will be doing:

• Drive user-centered designs based on vision, research and metrics
• Create interaction models, user-journeys maps, screen designs, and UI details that promote ease of use and optimize the user experience in the product and nearby
• Develop and maintain design wireframes, functional mockups, prototypes, specifications and navigation to let designers and developers implement its in the best way in the product
• Focus on users, and let their needs guide us to the best solutions; solve problems for real mass consumer
• Partner closely with Bookmate’s e-book service team leaders, as well as commercial, communication and engineering folks who will be in-charge of Bookmate Audio to find elegant but practical solutions to execute challenges together

About you:

• You are passionate about simple design and well aware of technical feasibility
• You are very good in converting concepts into functional and attractive interfaces
• You obsess over details – you notice UI gaps, or when an interaction is inconsistent in the product, and you fix it
• You have strong portfolio of product design, graphic design and/or industrial design works
• You are intolerant to patches & crutches and to those who can’t keep their own promises
• You’re a great communicator
• You have the communication skills to help set up frameworks and brainstorm initial design concepts
• You also have the ability to mentor others to deliver work, and make strategic thinking real
