Lead/Senior Backend Software Engineer

We are looking like to hire a strong, hardworking backend developer/lead who will help us incrementally improve the existing backend systems at Paxful.com, one of the biggest peer-to-peer crypto exchanges. We are offering a competitive market salary.

Ability to communicate in English is essential.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Maintain and enhance the existing backend systems written in PHP / python / go (no prior experience with this stack is required)
• Apply sound software design / architecture principles to create reliable software systems.
• Produce well-tested, high-quality code.
• Review your coworker’s PRs.
• Utilize observability and monitoring systems to ensure stability of the system and diagnose problems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
• Potentially lead a team of engineers towards reaching business goals.

You should have experience with:

• Building reliable REST services
• Understand how and when to use asynchronous processing
• Optimizing web applications
• Solid understanding of relational databases
• Working with high-traffic web systems
• System diagnostics, monitoring, alerting
• Bonus: have experience with financial systems (payments, e-commerce, crypto, etc
