Sr Android Engineer

A stealth mode company is hiring a Sr Android Engineer (Kotlin) to lead our innovative and groundbreaking fintech platforms.

The company is a technology startup, raised $30M capital so far, is revolutionizing the distribution of fintech products and services backed by digital banking. We’ve recently launched our free debit account and are now building a banking platform with freemium services and integrated commerce and a whole suite of exciting products in stealth mode with the intention to disrupt the 1 Trillion (by 2025) industry.

As a Senior engineer you will be one of the founding engineers to join the team and will have the opportunity to help build a new platform and services from the ground up as well as scale the current systems for growth.

Tech Stack includes Kotlin, Android SDK 23+, Android Jetpack, Dagger 2, Retrofit 2, Clean Architecture.

You are a passionate engineer with great desire to build and deliver the best user experience possible on mobile devices. This role provides an excellent opportunity and autonomy to shape the platform and services for the company by supporting unique and differentiated capabilities. Previous experience working for an early stage startup is a huge plus.

What you’ll be doing

• Work closely with engineering teams to build scalable consumer-facing experiences
• Curious mind who has a passion for discovering our customer needs and creating value through product innovation
• Ability to distill ambiguity into actionable plans, and work independently without supervision
• Identify opportunities to advance the existing software, infrastructure and technology as well as improve the engineering productivity.
• Raise the bar for the engineering organization by developing highly available, secure, compliant and scalable software.
• Mentor the engineers to maintain high quality by conducting strong code reviews with constructive feedback.

What you’ll need to have

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science,
• At least 3 years of experience in developing mobile applications using Kotlin, Android SDK
• Strong proficiency in Android Architecture components
• Experience with the Clean Architecture
• Experience with Realm or SQLite databases
• Experience with unit and UI testing
• Experience with git and gitflow, gradle understanding
• Understanding the principles of building multi-threaded applications
• Understanding the major patterns design (MVC, MVP, MVVM, MVI)
