Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior/Lead React Native developer interested in building performant mobile apps on both the iOS and Android platforms. You will be responsible for architecting and building these applications, as well as coordinating with the teams responsible for other layers of the product infrastructure. Building a product is a highly collaborative effort, and as such, a strong team player & leader with a commitment to perfection is required.
Responsibilities
- Build pixel-perfect, buttery smooth UIs across both mobile platforms.
- Leverage native APIs for deep integrations with both platforms.
- Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks for performance that feels native.
- Reach out to the open-source community to encourage and help implement mission-critical software fixes—React Native moves fast and often breaks things.
- Maintain code and write automated tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality.
- Architect and Design performance-optimized applications
- Lead a team of react-native developers (for Leads)
- Time split for Leads: 70% of time working on team management & code reviews + 30% of time working on architecture
Skills
- Firm grasp of the JavaScript, TypeScript language and its nuances, including ES6+ syntax
- Knowledge of functional programming
- Ability to write well-documented, clean Javascript code
- Rock solid at working with third-party dependencies and debugging dependency conflicts
- Familiarity with native build tools, like XCode, Gradle
- Understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL, the document request model, and offline storage
- Experience with automated testing suites, like Jest
- 8-10+ years of experience for Leads, 5+ years of experience for Seniors
- At least 1-3 years of experience leading a team (for Leads)
Experience:
- Minimum 6 years of experience in Mobile application development with at least 4 years of experience in React Native
- Experience in design and architecture high performing applications
- Experience in Agile Development practices
- Experience in playing Tech Lead/Scrum Master role is a plus
- Experience in fast-growing startup is a plus
