Senior Frontend Developer (Vue.js)

Auris Tech (https://www.auris.tech) are the inventors of a brand new, award winning Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) Engine developed specifically for ‘read’ speech.
The multi-patented ASR uses its unique AI as the foundation technology behind the Fonetti platform (mobile app + teacher portals) designed to teach and support reading and English language learning for children and adults alike.

We are looking for an experienced frontend JavaScript developer to join our technical team. You will primarily be responsible for our Vue.js frontend projects consisting of 3 web portals.

About you:

• 5+ years experience working in software development.
• Excellent English communication (written and verbal).
  
• An eye for good user experience (UX).
• A pro-active learner keeping up with new technologies relevant to your field.
• Have an understanding of how RESTful services and APIs work, and how to interact with them.
• Able to criticize your own work and not afraid to refactor where necessary to improve quality over time.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

Required technical skills:

• Vue.js including common libraries such as Vue Router, Vuex & Axios
• Up-to-date knowledge of the latest features in CSS and HTML5
• CSS Pre-processing (SASS)
• Version Control (Git)
• Unit, Feature & Integration testing
• Responsive / Mobile Design
• Write clean self-documenting code
• Knowledge of multiple programming patterns and understanding when to apply them
• Able to keep it simple and not over-engineer solutions.
• Basic knowledge of image authoring tools such as Photoshop & Illustrator (primarily to slice assets).
• Able to create new UI using existing design assets, without requiring a full design to be supplied.

Beneficial skills & experience:

As a small technical team, we often work on things outside of our core competencies. Here’s just a small list of things we would definitely want to hear about.

• Any other programming languages: Python, Swift, C++ and especially PHP+Laravel (an opportunity to contribute to backend API development is available if you do)
• Experience in backend development, server administration or AWS.
• Knowledge of any other popular frontend frameworks/libraries such as React.
• Have implemented your own automated test, build & delivery pipelines.
• Understanding of the nuances of email template creation.
• Knowledge of frontend analytical frameworks/providers.
• Understanding of ARIA standards.
