HPC Developer (Fortran)

• Project Description:

One of the world's largest providers of products and services to the energy industry has a need to develop and support enterprise information system in Oil & Gas domain specifically related to reservoir management.

We're creating new team which will be closely working with the client.
Technological stack is expected to evolve to the modern Cloud technologies.

• Responsibilities:

This developer is expected to research and apply advanced HPC techniques towards the performance improvement of Petroleum Reservoir Simulator. Will work closely with the other HPC (Solver focus) position to address all areas of the code amenable to enhancement.
Among the greatest needs are:
1) Development of a parallel scalable solution methodology for large reservoir models,
2) Develop new solution methods for complex surface production systems,
3) work with other HPC core team members to develop new linear solvers on heterologous computing systems, including GPUs, FPGA etc.,
4) Explore PVT code for HPC enhancement.

• Mandatory Skills Description:

Coding experience.
Ph.D. degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Petroleum Engineering, Applied Mathematics or Computational Physics.
Strong communication skills in English are required.

• Nice-to-Have Skills:

1) Coding experience with Fortran 90
2) Ph.D. degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Petroleum Engineering, Applied Mathematics or Computational Physics; with specialization in computational methods for fluid dynamics;
3) 3+ years coding experience (Fortran or C/C++) in numerical methods for complex non-linear systems;
4) Strong background in high performance computing and must have 3+ years coding experience in MPI, Open MP or CUDA,
5) Hands-on experience in performance debugging, tuning and optimization;
6) Knowledge of cloud infrastructures and distrusted computing;
7) Ability to innovate and develop new algorithms/methods to solve challenging problems;
8) Ability to work effectively in a cross-disciplinary team. Preferred to have parallel MPI experience.

• Languages: English B2 Upper Intermediate
