Backend Ruby Developer (Remote)

We analyze our users' reading behavior with a unique algorithm to identify potential bestsellers , which we then license for our Galatea app. When licensed and published on Galatea, we adapt the stories for our Galatea app and enhance the author's vision by adding vibrations and sound to turn their stories into immersive experiences for our users. Currently, our most successful author is Sapir Englard, a twenty-year-old author from Israel who uploaded her story to Inkitt in 2018. Your Role:

• Drive the architecture and technology choices that enable a world-class user experience.
• Continuously explore new technologies that will elevate the user experience of customers in order to be at the forefront of a rapidly changing digital environment.
• Own the responsibility of scaling the backend.
• Be prepared and able to frequently ship updates
• Contribute to the product roadmap with ideas that move the current OKRs forward.

What you will be working on:

• Fluent in English
• 5+ years of experience in a Backend position 
• Extensive experience with Ruby & Ruby on Rails
• Knowledge of Postgres, Elastic Search, Redis, Sidekiq
• Additionally, but not required, experience with: Kubernetes, GoLang, NodeJS, Python
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices, as well as best practices for the full software development life cycle
• Also including good coding practices like code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and live operations
