I am interested in a technical team lead position, preferably in product-based company, remote only or at least remote friendly (not ready to relocate atm, currently reside in Russia, Saint-Petersburg). I would love to lead new product development in a startup or startup-like environment.
Draewil is a platform to connect logistic service providers and businesses that need logistics services. Currently it is launched in Kuwait and there are few services available: last-mile delivery (food delivery), next day delivery (ecommerce) and premium taxi service. In addition there is OrderDirect project - solution for small businesses to generate own ecommerce web site in just few clicks. OrderDirect was born from client requests as we started serving a lot of clients that needed not only logistics services but also web ecommerce solution integrated with local payment providers and our logistics platform.
I started as a developer and was involved in core features development as a part of international team (located in London and Saint-Petersburg). Initially there were 3 backend developers, we built MVP and put it on Kuwait market. As we got feedback we required more developers to be hired. At that moment I was promoted to Backend Head position. There were tons of interviews with new candidates and finally we grew to 5 backend developers. As a backend head I was responsible for overall backend architecture, enforcing best practices and translating business requirements into technical design. As team grew to 7 backend developers I was promoted to VP of engineering position. I keep playing backend head role and additionally work to improve process and communications between mobile/web/qa/backend teams.
I was invited to lead development of new online booking system in Russia. My responsibilities included team management, creation system architecture, collecting requirements and translating it into technical specifications, hiring people. We managed to create solution and install it in 30 hotels in Saint-Petersburg.
