I'm Misha Merkushin, a senior backend software engineer with over 14 years of experience in web development. I started my career as a freelancer. Having learned base web technologies in 2 years, I got my first office job where I launched a few highly visited web applications. A couple of years later at the dawn of Ruby on Rails, I landed to another great tech company where I had to change my tech stack. My team and I crafted an enormous application with around a thousand requests per second. My task as a team lead was solving problems such as scalability, slow product development, and choice of architectural solutions.
Over time I became more interested in focusing directly on developing. Luckily I found Evil Martians where I implement ideas of the most modern technologies for our clients. I'm truly passionate about my work, and that's why I spend a lot of time creating open source software. I love building complicated web applications with high load.
In my spare time, you can find me riding a bike with big white headphones on my head. And every day I try not to sit still and walk at least 10 thousand steps.
